The run up to Christmas

Trees , decorations and the cake

Tree toppers are some of the best heirlooms you can have, at the Christmas fair this week there was a lot of discussions about peoples tree toppers, where they came from how and who gave them to each person and the memories. One lady said she thought she may have the most battered tree topper in the world, a doll that been sewn so many times to keep her together she was more stitches than cloth ...... lots of laughter and comparing notes, and very very fond memories xxx

I have a lovely new little Christmas Tree that will only fit on top of my computer cupboard in the sitting-room, and I fixed the end light which is green to the very top which extends its height with a little tree topper I made by tieing a small length of red ribbon into a bow, and stitching a little teddy button onto it. The width and length of the tree are extended by the careful placing and hanging of ornaments. I bought the very thin green hooks this year for hanging ornaments quickly and easily, which are great - they don't show up and the ornaments suspend in mid-air beautifully. Green clips for the lights keep them just where you want them, too, and if you clip them pointing outwards they are more colourful and bright! Merry Christmas to everyone in the Button Doll family!
